Projects 2 Do

C4K is committed to open source knowledge sharing. We have pooled sources to support Raspberry Pi and Arduino systems as majority of the support for these is open source and the products are affordable and can easily be replaced.

Each link below provides links to easy projects you can start using one of the systems.

Raspberry Pi Car

The Rasberry Pi is a tiny computer board that lets you build innovative computing projects at a very affordable price. The single-board computer is now in its third major version and is being widely used for numerous tech projects around the world.

Get the speed of toy die-cast cars!

We, kids of all ages, enjoy playing with our fancy cars… We NEED to know how fast they run.

Seeing my eight year old boy playing with Hot Wheels cars, running fast on a speed lane and screaming loud, ” This is the fastest car in the world! 300km/h!” I started wondering if I could make a device to measure the actual velocity of this wonderfull little cars. And a quick browsing on internet show this crazy thing called “Arduino.”

I am a totaly numb on electronics or computing. I still not believe how easy and cheap one can start driving on this road. I did. Step by step. Reading, studying, trying, thinking. So, lets share it with people!

The idea was simple: Measure a given distance, the time when the car passes through a couple of passage sensors. By getting this data Read More

Coding & Programming

Coding or programming is the process of creating instructions for computers using programming languages. Coding is used to program the websites, apps, and other technologies we interact with every day.

Coding is typically done using text but when you start out its good to start with a graphical interface that contains some codes to get a sense of what you can do.

C4K recommend that you use Scratch 3.0. This is open source (for free) and can be downloaded and used on all devices. Kids as young as preschool can use Scratch.

You can also start with some basic online open source courses that guide you through using Scratch. Try out this Scratch course on UDEMY
